Family Spirituality – Christ, the Head of every believer and High Priest over every household, makes each Christian home a domestic church. The Christian families are true “domestic churches.” Christ being the heart of the home, the soul of family life therefore exist to glorify and mirror His majesty—a majesty grounded in the sacred dignity He has given to every human being.
By its very nature, the household community is made up of a father, mother, and children, whose interdependent relationships, responsibilities, vocations, and divine purposes form the living structure of the home. Each member contributes to the household’s shared life of grace and purpose.
The purpose of this shared vision being the family gospel is to help us deeply understand and embrace the family as the “Domestic Church,” instituted by God Himself. When we grasp this truth, the family can fully live out its divine calling: to become a radiant reflection of Christ’s presence and love in the world.
This Christ- and Gospel-inspired lifestyle should be the standard for every Church of the Home, for anything less than the abiding presence of God cannot bring true family fulfillment or lasting satisfaction. This conviction underscores the urgent need for families to rebuild and realign their social structures in accordance with God’s divine order — a process we continually encourage and explore through the dialogues featured in our virtual magazine.
Through Household Applied Literacy, we present a unique and thought-provoking discourse on family life — a social blueprint designed to meet the needs and aspirations of this Domestic Church. Our work examines the essential components of the family structure — beginning with the father, mother, and children — guided by an unwavering commitment to transform family culture and promote safety, harmony, and purpose.
Our advocacy and oversight are focused on strengthening family foundations and enhancing the spiritual and social well-being of households everywhere, restoring the family to its rightful place as the cornerstone of faith and society.
Intrinsically, the formation and essence of the household are designed to build a mutual and interdependent bond that ensures the well-being and security of every member. However, for the family to fulfill this central purpose and exert a positive influence on society, its structure must be clearly defined and spiritually strengthened.
To achieve this, the family must assign responsibilities, establish godly traditions, and nurture a culture of virtue and discipline rooted in the fear of God. Such a foundation infuses daily life with grace, order, and purpose.
It is the undying love and sustaining grace of God that truly bind the family together — fostering marital unity, the nurturing of children, vocational growth, and inter-family relationships — all of which contribute to the advancement of the Kingdom of God within and beyond the home.
Our interviews with families are designed to explore the origin and essence of the household, revealing the goodness of life, social values, and the challenges that shape family experiences. Through these conversations, we seek to uncover stories of success and struggle, as well as the dilemmas, ordeals, and crises that often lead to the breakdown or defilement of family life.
Many families today face deep wounds and divisions because adequate support systems are lacking in times of conflict, hardship, or emotional distress. To help restore and heal broken homes, it is essential to conduct careful and compassionate investigations into the roots of family challenges — understanding their background, structure, and formative influences.
We believe that every discord has a root cause, and that genuine healing begins when those causes are clearly identified and recovery processes are prayerfully and thoughtfully applied. This approach lays the foundation for healing, restoration, and the renewal of family unity — helping each household rediscover its divine purpose as a reflection of God’s grace.

Christian Mission – The Christian Mission segment of our virtual magazine focuses on the administration of the Gospel and the precision of doctrine as revealed in the Word of God. Through this platform, we bring together servants of God from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, engaging them in thoughtful dialogue and accountability to ensure that church doctrines remain rooted in biblical truth.
Our mission is to foster ecumenical discourse that not only strengthens the unity of the body of Christ but also reveals the divine purpose and intention behind the Church of the Home, as ordained by Almighty God.
As a media clearinghouse, we curate and publish sermons, songs, teachings, and faith-inspired lifestyles that uplift the spirit, deepen understanding, and promote genuine spiritual growth among our audience. Each publication is carefully selected and reviewed in alignment with our core objective — the unbiased pursuit and dissemination of the truth of God’s Word.
The Holy Scriptures remain our ultimate guide and the sole reference for all truth pertaining to life and godliness. To truly understand these divine principles, one must hold firmly to biblical pronouncements as the unshakable foundation of truth — the Word that is Spirit and Life, deeply embedded in the very essence of God’s revelation.
This Word of Truth is purposeful, upright, and principled — a living Spirit that gives life, begotten, not made, for it is eternal and radiant with divine light. Its perfect authority stands beyond question or dispute. Therefore, it is improper for anyone to teach or promote doctrines that are alien, contradictory, or inconsistent with the Word of God, which alone embodies Spirit and Life.

Eternal Times Journal serves as an intermediary faith and ecumenical commonwealth assembly, founded on the belief in the eternal union of all believers. From a non-denominational perspective, it seeks to promote understanding and exposure to biblical truth, fostering unity within the diverse body of Christ.
The Journal features expository articles, in-depth theological insights, exclusive interviews, and inter-religious dialogues that highlight Christian values, events, and doctrinal reflections across denominations. Recognizing that Protestant, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Latter-day Saint (Mormon) communities all identify as Christians—yet hold differing theologies and practices—Eternal Times Journal aims to bridge understanding amid these distinctions.
While theological differences may persist, the Bible remains our central conviction and guiding authority. Scripture affirms that we are many members of one body, each vital to the whole. None can claim superiority or dismiss the other, for Christ Himself prayed that we “may be one,” just as He and the Father are one. Therefore, as believers, we are called to clothe ourselves with Christ — the full armor of God — and work together in unity, truth, and love.
However, it is only by putting on the whole armor of God that we can truly demonstrate our membership in the body of Christ — the Church. It is not our sense of unworthiness that breaks the Spirit of God within us, but rather our failure to recognize that we are worthy and special members of His body, called to cooperate with one another in love and respect.
But what does it truly mean to speak of “the Church”? Is there one Church, or are there many? At first glance, Christianity appears divided — with hundreds of denominations and countless congregations across Nigeria alone. A simple online search for churches in any given community reveals the vast diversity — and, at times, the visible divisions — within the Christian faith.
Many passionate believers, often with nothing more than faith, vision, and a few hands to help, have built new congregations and worship centers. Yet, this raises important questions: What is the relationship between these churches and others in their cities, in Nigeria, and across the world? Can a local church exist as a Christian body in isolation, or are all churches — with their differences and distinct traditions — called by Christ to seek one another and pursue unity? These are the ecumenical questions of our time, and they demand thoughtful reflection and prayerful answers from the body of Christ.
According to Christian tradition, Saint Paul described the Church as the “Body of Christ.” In his letter to the believers in Corinth, Paul wrote: “For as in one body we have many members, and not all members have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” (Romans 12:4–5). From this theological perspective, each Christian congregation represents the Church not as an isolated entity but as an integral part of the worldwide body of Christ — a living fellowship united in faith, yet beautifully diverse in its expressions and functions.

According to Christian history, the early Church convened seven ecumenical councils between the 4th and 7th centuries, where foundational doctrinal issues — including the nature of Christ and the Trinity — were debated and defined. These gatherings helped to solidify a period of unity within the Christian faith. However, over time, divisions and schisms emerged: the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches separated; later, the Protestant Reformation introduced further fragmentation, leading to the rise of numerous denominations across the Christian world.
In the early 21st century, the term “ecumenical” has re-emerged, describing both the global Church and the ongoing movement toward Christian unity. This unity is not merely about institutions or denominational structures but concerns a deeper unity of spirit, faith, and purpose.
In Nigeria, attitudes toward Christian ecumenism are varied. Some believers — particularly within independent churches — remain cautious, viewing ecumenical efforts as potential threats to theological purity or as mechanisms for consolidating religious power. Yet, others see ecumenism as essential to the Christian witness, emphasizing that faith in Christ calls for dialogue, mutual respect, and deepening relationships among all believers, even amid profound doctrinal differences.
Within Nigeria’s diverse Christian landscape, the ecumenical witness continues to find expression in many forms — through shared missions, interdenominational cooperation, and the pursuit of unity in the Spirit.
At both state and local levels, Nigeria is home to a wide network of church councils that embody the ecumenical vision of cooperation and unity. These councils foster collaboration among Christian communities in areas of worship, service, and community development, reflecting the shared mission of the body of Christ.
At the national level, the National Council of Churches serves as a unifying platform, bringing together a broad spectrum of denominations for mission and education, service and relief ministries through the National Church Service, and active engagement with pressing issues such as tribal relations, economic equity, and social justice. It also provides a forum for theological dialogue and reflection on divisive doctrinal matters.
Though often associated with theological liberalism, the National Council of Churches has continued to sustain meaningful dialogue among Protestant and Orthodox communities, offering a space for shared witness and understanding within Nigeria’s diverse Christian landscape.
Today, Nigerian Christianity is marked by remarkable diversity. Believers from a multitude of ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds now make up the vibrant Christian communities across the nation’s cities and towns. Yet, this diversity also presents a profound challenge — the call to make tangible an ecumenical vision of Christianity that seeks genuine fellowship across boundaries of tribe, culture, and denomination.
This is the pressing task before Nigerian Christians today: to be one, just as Jesus and the Father are one. We must guard our hearts against the spirit of division — the enemy of truth and unity — and resist allowing it any place within the body of Christ. Unity is not an option but a command, a reflection of divine harmony.
Jesus saw this coming and Himself prayed, “that they may all be one” (John 17:21), and the Church is in great need of this prayer in our time. He further exhorted us to “remain in Me” — a call to steadfast faith and spiritual intimacy. For in remaining in Christ here on earth, we prepare to remain with Him in eternity, to behold His glory and share in His everlasting communion.
