Generation Household Literacy Advancement Empowerment Foundation (GHLAEF) is a nonprofit organization with advocacy in child education, human rights, child abuse, human trafficking, effective leadership and good governance, entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy, conflict resolution, community development, food security, humanitarian mission, green environment, healthcare and Christian commonwealth mission.

GHLAEF – Aims and Objectives
To advocate and promote children’s rights, to lead national children’s rights of education, fight against child’s labor, abuse and make existing human rights enforcement mechanisms accessible for all and bring children’s rights to the top of the national agenda, a rights-based approach to education that will address some of our societies deeply rooted inequalities. Education is a fundamental human right. Like all human rights, it is universal and inalienable, and everyone regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity or economic status, is entitled to it. We recognize the importance of children to make the expansion of the education system accessible to all children.
To act as a venture philanthropy organization, we shall provide financial support, guidance, and tools for measuring the success of promising innovation or corporate projects by investing in entrepreneurial and social enterprises, contributing in blended finance models, and supporting social impact bonds where financial returns are tied to achieving specific shared outcomes. Our aim is to create long-term social change by funding and supporting enterprises to develop business models, conduct market research, and implement marketing strategies, by providing a broad organization network for all and spearheading mutual cooperation that leads to value creation through the management of ground-breaking innovations by encouraging the establishment of blue-chip businesses that provides leading-edge solutions.
To provide effective leadership for organizations and individuals through the discovery and development of ordinary people who are willing to use their gifts and talents to bring about extraordinary change or social transformation. Our goal is to help people and organizations map out a plan for action, train in personal or team situation’s goal setting techniques, and how to develop a strategic plan for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plans of action that support people and organization reach goals or success faster. We believe and advocate a move away from the scientific management approach towards a more humanistic one, such that help create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision and relentlessly driving it to completion.
As a global social unit of faith and commonwealth network, we promote household or family values that are based on biblical principles of being your brother and sister’s keeper. Nurturing as basic ingredient of family virtue or spirituality is guided by grace and faith and such is seen on many levels; physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual. Our advocacy validation is simply that, one needs to be well nurtured at home before one can understand the community’s celebration of life or the goodness of life. The Christian family is in fact the first community called to announce the Gospel of love to the human person during growth and to bring him or her, through a progressive education, peaceful and social tenet, to full human and Christian maturity.
Our advocacy priorities are in true democracy, good governance and leadership which aims at contributing effectively and legitimately to public leadership by providing electoral education, monitoring and observing elections, strengthening integrity, responsibility of governance in public and private sector. Our goal is to improve the quality of public and corporate governance in Nigeria and the region of West Africa, ensure inclusive governance and decision-making process at local, state and national levels to influence decision-makers, by advocating for more effective and people-centered public policies. Espousing transparency, accountability, anti-corruption issues, human rights, human trafficking and gender justice. As a social agency and institution, shall engage in democracy and good governance research, promote civil society voices and an enabling environment for civil society organizations at local, state, national and regional levels and to collaborate with local NGOs, humanitarian organizations and grassroots socio-groups to bringing about positive change.
To act as mediating agency in disputes and conflict resolution, empower communities with basic skills on peace and conflict resolution, by making them peacemakers in their communities and environments. How they themselves can promote peace, maintain social peace and gain understanding of the importance of peace. How they can solve conflicts and learn the basic mechanisms of conflict resolution. To promote and act as mediator agency of alternative dispute resolution and peace building organization.
To promote green environment by sensitizing people and communities to conserve nature by reducing the amount of water they use, to use less energy, shop wisely, plant trees which contribute to improving health of the environment and to share general knowledge about environmental issues. It’s important to create a green environment because it helps protect the planet and human health when we protect species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services and protecting biological diversity. Educating people to develop compatible and sustainable habits towards the environment so that their daily work alongside the resources of nature than depleting them, or doing more long-term damage to the environment or ecological system. To engage in research and investigations on environmental degradation, both land, air and water pollution, and other degradation that are harmful to environment, animal and human health or survival.
To promote healthy lifestyles and support people living with viruses, terminal illness and disorders, by sensitizing people on preventive diseases and helping those living with sickle cell anemia to manage themselves, provide support to cancer patients and other health challenges.
To act as humanitarian agency in crisis situations by providing help and support to people who are suffering, displaced, or in need as a result of armed conflicts or communal clashes through emergency response by providing aid in natural disasters scenarios, civil unrest, or famine, providing medical care, nutrition and sanitation, to educate vulnerable populations of such devastated areas, provide food assistance and other material resources like camping amenities, by improving access to mobility for people with physical disabilities. To support communities devastated by disaster or communal disputes as post conflict building response, developing basic amenities and other social facilities.
Effective Leadership and Mutual Co-operation
This global social unit of faith and commonwealth network is aimed at becoming a commonplace for individuals, families and communities where people receive complex education but yet a necessary knowledge of our ever-changing world in taking actionable decisions that positively affect their lives and communities. As a commonwealth community of people with shared experiences, values, aspirations and true-to-life practices. We are committed to the development and growth of everyone irrespective of backgrounds or race, this we believe is the best form of change humanity can attain as people subjugated by abandonment and mediocre of modern governance that is ruined by deceit and corruption. As an organization with the mandate to lead the people out of poverty and create meaningful impact for the supposed good life we all aspire, our programs are prominently designed to reach expectations through the implementation of basic principles of transformation and empowerment of self-determination that enable people to represent their interests in a responsible and self-determined way, and by acting on their own authority. Our mainstay social contract is to provide Creative Knowledge Environments (CKEs) and become a world social leader that steers positive change in the lives of people globally.
As a household community and interrelated chain of people from diverse backgrounds with the determination to make a constructive change and progressively shape society. We are devoted to building families, individuals and even our youngsters to be their best in seeking to know and do the will of God our Father. How the family unit can be guided correctly, led and be better organized is essentially our conviction, activism and philosophy. We believe that, if the family is guided aright, it can redeem itself and be able to deliver on its divine and original mandate of fostering decent children and multiplying to subdue and replenish the earth, by embracing rectitude and the best practices that consistently produce children with dignified lifestyles and leadership aptitude that is an embodiment of righteousness, and indeed serving others with their gifts and talents.
It is obvious that our governments have failed and believing that they can be the solution is waste of time, the only new thing or flex is how the family units can become resilient and live above the obstacles, impediments and challenges that are the resultant effects of bad governance and failed policies. Waiting perpetually on governments won’t solve the problems of poverty either, or dehumanization and loss of identity that now bewilders family members. To begin with an initial effort to being our brother and sister’s keeper is the starting point for us as a community that is mutually bonded by quest for goodness, purpose and hope. Until we come together and form mutual synergy that is characterized by solidarity, collaboration, cooperation and seek for solutions to our problems, fighting alone and struggling daily to achieve positive change as individuals can promise very little outcome or nothing at all. Just as the name implies “Household” is and should be our rallying dais for all of us as a people whose aspirations are truncated by corrupt leadership to perhaps make our voice heard, feed our visions with the right information and pursue common objective which is first to become useful to our personal ourselves, families and society. This we can achieve as a community with shared aspirations without the help of the so-called governments. For us to reach or arrive at a favorable outcome called success, many things are involved or should be considered essentially. The saying that knowledge is power is absolutely true and cannot be disputed. One must seek to understand and learn proven principles or such similar practices that are consistently profitable through the influence they impact on an individual or the gaining of proper knowledge to become knowledgeable and skillful in a certain way or manner. If we all can come into a commonplace of truth and bear such truth on ourselves and be authentic, there will be no reason or need for the strife or conflict we create among ourselves as human beings. There will be no cause to hold others slaves or captives or trampling on the defenseless ones among us. God as a mighty One created all men free and expects us to be free by giving us the will to be free in our decision-making processes, who are we to trample on others and enslave them.
To overcome these postulated society’s complex challenges and turn obstacles or glooms to opportunities, there will be need for an effective leadership to navigate the challenge of shaping forth an uncommon will and direction which we believe is a viable opportunity to change the narratives. It was in research and through our appraisal work on the wreckage of society that we discovered leadership vacuum and decided to sacrifice our lives to lead and bring about the needed change for our people. Since this required leadership necessitate transparency and accountability, we as a team agreed and have built a system that its administration is run transparently and accountable. That is, the founding principle that birthed the organization now called “GHLAEF”.
At the heart of this initiative lies the responsibility to deliver an effectual guide and the passion to provide strategic education that is lacking and hacking the growth of our people, which has created anxiety and rendered most of the people poor and hopeless. As difficult as the situation appears, we are obligated and not overwhelmed because we believe that the solutions to these problems lies in determination to transform lives and communities. With focused dedication to confront the task of delivering appropriate information and knowledge-based orientation to our people, to possibly save them the embarrassment of lack and want, poverty and misery. As a people, for us to be free and express life in its fullness, we all must accept and be confomed to proven principles and patterns that are realistic models for favorable success, even though such thinking or ways of doing things may not align with our customary belief or perception. For many of us, we have spent long years doing things the same way without results, patterns over and over even though we keep getting the same failed outcomes.
Enigmatic as it may sound, we must first tend to, and heal our own internal wounds, therefore dedicating ourselves to the love and healing of others, for all meaningful and lasting change comes from within, but it cannot do so until that which is wounded is fully recognized, embraced, honored, and lovingly healed. The greatest teacher and Lord Jesus Christ taught that we cannot address the speck of dust in our brother or sister’s eye until we remove the plank of wood in our own, for then we will see clearly to help remove the dust from our neighbor’s eye. In little ways, we can contribute to positive change by taking care of each other. You must never know when you can be the listening ear, helping hand or supportive friend or neighbor that someone needs. The idea of changing the world can be daunting. It’s not only easy but understandable to think, “I am only one person; what can I really do?” If every person thinks that, nothing will get done. But if every person did just one thing to make the world a better place today, billions of acts of kindness, social responsibility and generosity would take place and wouldn’t that alone change the face of this planet? Somebody once said, “I am only one, but still, I am one; I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something; and just because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” Whether you have a school-age child or not, children are the future of this world. Spend time helping them reach their potential by tutoring, mentoring or taking part in an after-school program. Consciously realize that the homeless man you pass on the street every day is, in fact, a man. Through choices of his own or circumstances out of his control, he ended up in this situation, and that makes him no less human. Say hello and warmly greet him. Your greeting could bring healing to his heart, and help heal the world one person at a time. Treat people as equals, no matter how you interpret their social standing.
Our forests are being cut down at an alarming rate. Conserve the trees by conserving paper. Send an e-mail instead of a letter, type directions into your cell phone instead of writing them down, and bring your own fabric shopping bags to the store. It’s easy to be selfish with your time, money, and resources by getting caught up in our material-driven societal expectations. Try being generous and see how your life changes. Buy snacks or pay for the person behind you in line at a restaurant or on the street, read to children in your free time, or simply stop and listen for the answer when you ask a friend how they are doing. Chances are that your generosity will energize you, and you’ll feel less helpless about how to make the world a better place. A large portion of the world is without fresh drinking water. Educate yourself about the drought epidemic, and make the world a better place by donating to organizations and charities helping to fight against the lack of clean water around the globe. Your donation could result in the reduction of preventable, water-related diseases. Taking long showers and letting the water run as you brush your teeth are indulgences that negatively impact our world. Try to limit your water usage by timing how long you have the water running, and trying to beat that time the next time you turn on the faucet. Even the use of hybrid vehicles contributes to carbon emissions, greenhouse gases, and reduced air quality. Take a moment to consider how you can use your personal vehicle less. You could carpool or take public transportation to work, walk to church, or bike to pick up a few things from the store and make the world a better place.
