The Commonwealth of God – Through the preaching of the Apostles, the church of the resurrected Christ continued to grow in Jerusalem and beyond. A few years after the Christian movement had begun; a situation arose in Jerusalem which required urgent attention. The Apostles suggested an inclusive plan for equality and immediately they inaugurated men of great repute to manage the situation, the apostolic counsel improved the welfare of God’s people and the early church increased greatly. Today’s church is not an exception but is consequently faced with similar challenges if not the same issue. The church still struggles with similar crisis whereby many are neglected which is leading a large section of the fold to stay away from Church and abandon the call to serve God, this is happening because the church is unable to substantially match the needs of her members.
It’s common sense to know that a lot of people are battered by poverty, suffering and discouragement within church systems especially the Church in Nigeria. The unfortunate hesitant response to serve Christ by non-believers or even church members can be addressed and managed so to bring back the multiple that is perishing without God. The rising suffering, poorness or monetary demand church members placed on the church as a non-profit organization is indeed government failure to tackle corruption, inequality, unemployment, illiteracy, healthcare deficit, infrastructure, insecurity, hunger and extreme poverty as government primary responsibility to her citizens. But, what then can the church do differently been a nonprofit organization with limited income or resources?
Prominently, there is a leeway to addressing the complexity of the challenge, the idea or solution can be realized in building a co-operative enterprise to solve the problem and essentially drive the change. Furtherance to the oversight of this commonwealth initiative, I have made plain the vision as it’s recommended in (Hab. 2: 2) and it’s my privilege to provide leading details for a program that will serve the church community, and perhaps solve the problems of society’s joblessness among church members and stimulate church growth at the same time, perhaps leading multitude to Christ and establishing them in Church.

More so, the church ought to utilize or should put to use, the diverse human capital and professional skills acquired by her members that is yet to be explored for the purpose of growing the kingdom. This large stream of human assets should be utilized in order to ease the economic pressure on the poorest members, by church faithful and professionals willing to serve God with their skilled knowledge and gifting.
This can be done through a thoughtful memorandum of understanding with church professionals or skilled individuals. The church can design skill acquisition program and guide all selected trainees or trainers according to desired plan, and therefore implement scheme to improve the lives of many. The contribution of church to society in delivering gains of vocational and peace education or training shall address the challenges of rising poverty or joblessness among the people, poverty remains the root causes to why many people are not committed or established in Christ or the church, a lot still struggles economically and are unable to bear fruit in Christ because of persistent difficulties of life.
Reducing unemployment by deliberately empowering people with the right skills will turn things around for all of us as God’s family, those that have decided to serve God do so expediently because they are not weighed down by economic worries or are serving God because they can comfortably mobilize themselves while serving God. This is because, the financial ability to pursue the service of God is not a major cost for them and therefore, they serve God with fewer impediments. The said mentor-ship or training scheme for the people of God will correct the perception many non-believers have against church leaders and clergymen; during evangelical outreach I discovered that vast majority of people think the church is rich and suppose it to be a benevolent organization or contributing to the welfare of her members.

The church of the 21st century desiring to impact and affect the globe with the message of Christ must first know its environment of operation and thereafter implement ways or strategies capable of tackling social security problems that are usually impediments for those called to surrender to Jesus Christ to eventually serve God with resolute commitment.
The church has to be a systemic authority and bridge between the poor and the rich, as an institution of a benevolent God, we ought to balance or close the gap of inequality to ensure that poor people too are empowered to improve economically via leverage skills rendered by the rich and skillful among us. Since the church is not a benevolent organization, what then can be done since the church too is in need. Ultimately, the church as a structural and organized body is strategically positioned to lead and get things done, to perhaps lead in the elevation and uplifting of multitude out of poverty.
The bailout system to solve these problems can be developed and actionable within the church circle, this is possible by simply identifying the professionals or expert people among us and encourage them to contribute in the building of the kingdom of God by serving the weak sections of society. They could be lawyers, entrepreneurs, businessmen and women, teachers with proficiency in crafts, motivational speakers, counselors, investment advisers, business coaches, trainers, academics, scientists, and many others that will voluntarily summit their skills in helping to raise those that are unable to help themselves and thereby remained perpetually vulnerable.
With the wealth of knowledge of these professional individuals assembled together, we can develop a template for empowerment and together engineer the smooth running of the program that will target at people with deficiency in skills or knowledge. Also, for the pool of unemployment or jobless people, disadvantaged and less privileged. The management board of the scheme shall advise appropriately what proficiency or vocational skills that can be rendered accordingly to enhance the life of these individuals in question. For the purpose and necessity of evangelism, and saving of souls, the church can advocate and recommend empowerment program for new converts. This golden tool of the kingdom shall serve as the miraculous and enhancement of God’s provision for His people yet unsaved while the church drives the message of salvation everywhere.

The work of God on earth is beginning to slow and decline, human rapacity (personified as one of the deadly sin) is the very cause of this spurn and disdain presently experienced by the economy of salvation. Taking territories for Christ is becoming even more challenging in recent years, the need to reform and consolidate is nearly the best answer or way forward for today’s church. This ineffectiveness to win for Christ is the resultant essence of human greed, division and a great shift from the truth of God’s word. The body of Christ is bewildered with internal conflicts, misconceptions and ignorance that is begging for an overhaul so it can genuinely shoulder the mandate of soul winning and restoration which is the fulcrum of Christian mission worldwide.
The 21st century church is faced with pressing and unprecedented challenges of mismanagement of people and resources, falsehood, manipulation, immorality, corruption, wickedness, hunger and extreme poverty. Operating in today’s hostile environment, church leaders must re-establish or reintroduce doctrinal bailouts that will correct the anomaly and re-dedicate to the divine mandate or great commission of Christ to proffer long lasting solutions for the consequential problems inflicting and affecting the church of Christ.

Many have become weary of the message of Christ because they are swayed by the idea or believe that church is not doing enough to improve lives or the shaping of our very society which was Christ centered overture, according to this school of thought church is ineffective and does not assist her members in times of need, this perception or notion thrives because many believe that the church generate enormous income but give nothing in return to her members even in their most difficult times. This belief is lack of knowledge of the word of God too, their view is deformed completely of the reality of what church institution really is.
That is not to say that, there is no suffering among church brethren or even those of the world, so many are indeed struggling with life difficulties and challenges. To mentor and coach our people to become their creative best will actually rescue the situation and form a healthier family Christ expects us to build for His kingdom, since governments have failed in their core responsibilities. This will not only foster ground-breaking ideas and invention but it will reduce the sufferings of our members as church and perhaps contribute to the wider society. A strategic plan will serve both the church in fostering lives by propelling a middle-class that will be able to support the church community, also it shall raise the standard of living for our people.
This initiative as a component of the body of Christ rescue mission will bolster career successes and induce prospects of winning many to God, as an influential tool to oblige the poor to Christ and at the same time make them mighty in God. As 21st century smart, competent and global crusade, we must deploy the rich gifting and professional knowledge embedded in the church assembly for evangelical mission. This costly knowledge of professionals and businessmen among the laity can be deployed for acute and profitable use in building others that are less fortunate among us. While many will undergo training to receive vocational skills, the kingdom of God will advance and maturation of multitude in Christ at the same time.
